Mean, Median and Mode

How to calculate Mean, Median and Mode
Mean
Add up all of the numbers then divide the total number amount of how many numbers there are
Median
Order all the numbers in numerical order then find the middle number in the list and thats the median. If there are two numbers in the middle add both the numbers together the divide by two.
Mode
To find the mode order the numbers then count how many of the same number there is. the number with that is the most often is the mode.

Who invented Mean, Median and Mode
Mean
The term is first found in the mid-1690s in the writings of Edmund Halley, and it has been used to summarize observations of a variable since the time of Galileo.

Median
An early use in English of the statistical concept of median was Francis Galtons observation that “the median … is the value which is exceeded by one-half of an infinitely large group, and which the other half falls short of”

Mode
An early use of the statistical concept of the mode was by English mathematician Karl Pearson in 1895 when he stated that “I have found it convenient to use the term mode for the abscissa corresponding to the ordinate of maximum frequency”

Give an example of a practical use use- where you would find it useful
For mean you can use it to fint the average of something for exaple sports often show player stats  with averages. They would add up all the blocks he made every game then divide it of how many games and that would give him an average.

How to work out volume

What do you mean by volume:
The amount of space the object occupies
How do you convert volume to litres
For cubic centimetres  1,000.00

How do we measure it
m³
cm³
mm³

Volume of a rectangle
hxbxl

Volume of a cylinder
πxr²xh

Volume of a prism
1/3xπxr²xh

b=3m h=1.2m l=8m
bxhxl
3m x 1.2m x 8m
=28.8m³
28.8x1000
=28800L
one litre weighs one kilo so there for
the pool weighs 28800 kilos

Dia of 0.75m h = 1.5m
πxdxh
π x 0.75 x 1.5
=3.5m³
3.5 x 1000
3500

Marking Gauge

Identify:

Describe: It has a long piece of wood and another that's a box type of shape that has a thumbscrew in it. there's a nail on the top-side of the long piece of wood

Explain: this is used to mark out a line on piece of wood by puting in it on a ruler you can accurately mark it

Combination Set Square

Identify:

Describe: Its a ruler with a handle with a bubble level

Explain: Here's a video link

Identify:

Describe: It has a metal slide that turns around on a piece of wood

Explain: Here's a video that explains it Link

Woodwork set square
Identify:

Trees and NZ timber

Crown is the top half of the tree

Leaves are what the tree produce

Branches stem off to create leaves

The trunk is like the body of the tree

Roots are for holding the tree down for wind and also to transfer chemicals and water to the tree

Cross section of a tree trunk and stump: trunk: part of the tree, between the roots and the branches, consisting of wood on the interior and bark on the exterior. Stump: the remainder of the trunk including the roots after the tree is felled.

Most trees are meant to be cut down to lumber Is grown in managed forests owned by the company or leased to them by the government. When the trees grow into their ideal size they cut them down to send to the lumber mill where they get cut in many shapes and sizes.

The tree gets cut down then skim all the branches off the tree next is to cut it into size so that they can tranzport it to the lumber mill and from there they remove the bark off the tree and cut it into size. They also dry the limber.
